Mar 17, 2004 Deep dark black color and a thick dark head that thins out in color and size. Nice strong chocolate smell, and and some smoked coffee feeling to it as well. Mouthfeel is a somewhat oilyand has a good presence. Overall smoked chocolately flavor and a good hearty aftertaste. Goes down easily, and leaves with a small bitterness that makes you want another one.

Aug 10, 2007 Bottle, chris_o shindig. Very dark brown with a brown head. Nose is burnt espresso malt with a touch of hop and yeast. Slightly sour sherbert. Very gassy mouth with strong chocolate. Some milk chocolate and roasted malts. Burnt aftertaste that lasts. Quite good.

Jun 4, 2008 22 oz bottle. Pours dark black with a thin tan head. Nice chocolate, coffee, and smokey aroma. Beer is a little thin, but it does pack some good flavor to it. Nice dark roast flavor, nice coffee and chocolate as well. Little bit of bitter aftertaste.

Jan 22, 2009 Thanks to lb4ln for sending me a bomber. (and Old Mr Crow who sent me a bomber in the past that I drank without rating) Pours dark brown with a medium head. Aroma is roasted dark malt and coffee. Taste is dry with a big, roasty flavor and good natural coffee flavor in the malt. A very fine sessionable stout that I wish I could buy closer to me.

Dec 27, 2007 Poured a dark black some red edges good head and good lacing. Aroma was very chocolate. Flavor was milk chocolate but still had a nice bitterness to it. Mouthfeel was dry. SOlid beer. thanks eagle

Jul 9, 2005 A deep dark Black hole, sucks light out of the room it’s so dark. Frothy tan head. Very rich, dark unsweetened chocolate, coffee, light floral & earthy undertones. A nice creamy feel with the flavor of bittersweet cocoa blended with yesterdays coffee that’s been reheated, served in a wooden mug. It sounds odd but it blends nicely into a full flavored tasty stout. I was lamenting that I missed it in Seattle and when I returned to Japan, I had this in a package waiting for me! Thanks for this one Josh!

Jul 27, 2008 Pours dark black color with medium froathy tan head. Aroma is sweet lactic coffee. Flavor nice thick coffee flavor, creamy and smooth. Nice beer.

Jan 23, 2005 Opaque black color with a dense kahki colored head. Roasty aroma with some plum and coffee. Lots of dry roasted barley flavor, very light sweetness and a light mint note. Some cocoa in the finish. Pretty nice stuff.
