Commercial Description:
A full-bodied beer with deep chocolate color, velvety malt texture, and a dark-roasted flavor, with hints of smokiness and coffee. It combines the dryness of traditional Dublin-style stout with the strength and character of Imperial Stout.

Blacker than sin, with a lovely thick cafe au lait coloured head. Aroma of malt, chocolate and smoke. Malty flavour with notes of chocolate, coffee and hops. Nice dry finish that still lasted. It had the complexity of imperial stout without the alcohol befuddling power. This may be the best stout I have ever tasted in my life. It certaily is my first 5.

Dark and heavy, with a wonderful aroma of toffee and burnt malt. Not too bitter.

This is a pretty interesting ale. Kind of a cross between guinness and an Imperial stout. Hops are very prominent too. Dare I say, this is a session stout. Something I could probably drink everyday. Very very good.

Big thanks to Old_Mr_Crow for carting this to DC for me. Pure black body with a nice brown head. Great aroma, caramel, coffee, roasted nuts. Taste is very nice, slightly hot on the tounge, coffee and dark chocolate bitter. Sweet coffee overtones however are evident as is some dark fruit as in prunes. Ending is dry and sweetly-bitter. A very nice stout that I’m glad I was able to try.

Pours a pitch black with a modest tan head with great retention. Aroma is lovely and enticing - chocolate & dark coffee. Tastes fantastic - nice and bitter chocolate with plenty of roasted coffee character and just a hint of sweetness, nice and dry. Lingering burnt finish, nice hops, touch of alcohol. Wonderful thick body with plenty of carbonation. This tastes like a much stronger imperial stout, even though it’s just a stout. Tasty, tasty, tasty!

Pours a khaki head with legs and a dark brown body. Smells of smoke, roast, and caramel. Flavor is the same. Little thin. Finish is a little sour, some bitterness, and smoke.

Bottle shared by sliffy...or was that puddintane? Black pour with a short tan head. Aroma of coffee, dark fruits...a bit vinous. Flavor of coffe, some smoke, dark bitter chocolate and some roasted malt. Rich and smooth body with a bitter smokey finish.

[Bottle, thanks Skyview] Pours dark brown with a dark tan head. Aroma is light hops, roasted malt, some chocolate, leather maybe?. Taste is hoppy, long roasted taste. Slightly bitter at the end. Thin with a long finish. Average, but too hoppy for my liking.
