Commercial Description:
A full-bodied beer with deep chocolate color, velvety malt texture, and a dark-roasted flavor, with hints of smokiness and coffee. It combines the dryness of traditional Dublin-style stout with the strength and character of Imperial Stout.

From the 650 ml bottle with no obvious lot code or expiration date. Everything about this suggests it is something solid and firm. It pours from the heavy weight bottle an opaque brown with creamy brown head and decent lacing. The aroma is alive with smoky chocolate malt with the strength of an Imperial Stout. The mouthfeel is creamy and bold. The taste tingles with coffee, chocolate and hops and settles fine on the palate. This was a topnotch stout.

Nice full bodied stout with the roasted flavors and a nice smoothness. It had a coffee like flavor and was enjoyable

Black in color with a thin head that quickly dissipated. The nose showed smokey aromas of dark chocolate, coffee graonds and a bit of vanilla. In the mouth it was medium-bodied with plenty of carbonation. A nice, easily drinkable stout.

On tap at pub. Deep black with nice head. Wow, heady brew. Robust chocolate and roasted notes are there, and are delicately presented in this extremely smooth and drinkable brew. Great mouthfeel and resounding finish leaves one quite happy with this wonderful example fo the style.

Thanks to brewdad for giving me the chance to try this. Poured thick and black, small brown head. Smell was chocolate and bitter roast. Taste was a big bitter kick at first, then fading into rich chocolate, smoke and roast. For a normal stout, this packs some flavor. I really enjoyed this one.

Thanks to acertain for this. Bottle. Aroma smokey dark roast malts a hint of anise and coffee. Poured almost jet black really nice dark tan head. Flavor was good the smoke didn’t dominate but really gave way to strong coffee. Palate was good although I thought a tinge on the watery side. Overall this was a really nice brew.

Bottle from The Bier Stein in Eugene, OR. Poured a dark brown almost black. I could definately smell the roasted malts. Bitter roasted malt flavor backed with coffee and nutty flavors. Well done for a stout.
