Commercial Description:
A full-bodied beer with deep chocolate color, velvety malt texture, and a dark-roasted flavor, with hints of smokiness and coffee. It combines the dryness of traditional Dublin-style stout with the strength and character of Imperial Stout.

Strong toast flavor and nice and dry. Great cereal taste. Flavor remains all about the malt through the bitterness. Keeps its great tan head throughout. The best of the Pike ales I tried.

22 oz bottle. Pitch black with a quick dissipating tan head. Aroma of chocolate, burnt sugar, coffee and smoky wood. The flavor is bittersweet chocolate with some hop bitterness. Full body with mild carbonation and a thick soft mouth feel. This is a very nice Stout, very full flavored and goes down smooth.

On tap at Saraveza. Colour... jet black with a 1/4 inch khaki head. Nose... dark, roasted malt, hops and dark chocolate. Palate... creamy, yet dryish, very roasty, moderately coating and semi-viscous, smoky, bitter chocolate, full-bodied coffee and a long finish.

Pours a thick black with tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, some smoke, chocolate and hops. Very smoky taste, with coffee, malt, some cocoa. Nice mild hop finish. Solid stout!

bottle. pours a deep chocolate color with a rich tan head. aroma is of dark chocolate and hints of coffee. flavor is of very bitter dark chocolate with a nice blend of earthy hops and velvety malt. had this for the first time on tap at Pike in Seattle, and thought it it was better though a bottle is quite good.

Bottle from The Bottle Shop in Eugene, OR. This brew was an excellent stout with full flavor and palate. Roasted malt/chocolate with a little woodiness and a touch of coffee.

Bottle shared with the guys courtesy of ScottyP from his trip to Austin. Near black pour with decent, fading dark tan head. Roasty, smokey, chocolate. Some coffee in the finish. A little thin on the palate. Cool label.

Black with short lived tan head. Nose has a lot of roast with some sugary fruit, alcohol, slight hop and vanilla. Flavor is quite roasty and rather bitter, but it’s balanced by chocolate and fresh hop in the long finish. Nice beer, well rounded. and quite effective.
