Commercial Description:
A full-bodied beer with deep chocolate color, velvety malt texture, and a dark-roasted flavor, with hints of smokiness and coffee. It combines the dryness of traditional Dublin-style stout with the strength and character of Imperial Stout.

On tap at The Pike Brewery in Seattle. Poured a nice dark black stouyt color with a thin off white head. Aroma was chocolate malt, coffee, dark chocolate. Flavor was chocolate and coffee, but not overly bitter or full of tannins. This was a great stout.

Strong roasted malt aroma, very dark brown, creamy small tan head, lacing all down the glass. Nice 1.5 stout. Heavier than yr typical stout, smaller than an imperial. Just beefy with a scowl. Intense roast, dry grain, kick ass.

2004 black with a tall tan head. Lots of roasty mocha aroma. Taste starts with a sweet chocolate character, finishing with a big coffee finish, very rich and roasty with a nice even bitterness. This is a very smooth stout with a good thickness to it.

courtesy of tpd975. - updated 11-11-2009 - Pours black with mahogany head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Hitns of citrus hops. Flavor, coffee and chocolate with malts. After taste has a light hoppy mouthfeel. Amazing beer for this abv, with complex characteristics. Possibly, some bitter chocolate. Hints of dark fruits, raisin/currants like mouthfeel.
