Commercial Description:
A full-bodied beer with deep chocolate color, velvety malt texture, and a dark-roasted flavor, with hints of smokiness and coffee. It combines the dryness of traditional Dublin-style stout with the strength and character of Imperial Stout.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of chocolate and strong notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, sweet drops, hops, and grapefruit, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Heavy coffee aroma, espresso, bittersweet chocolate, smoke. Body is opaque, thin tan head. A little thinner then I expected. Chocolate, espresso and bacon is the taste.

Purs very dark brown with a light deep tan head that disapears rapidly. Smells of smoke and roasted coffee and a slight astringent alcohol smell as well. Almost no lacing is left behind on the glass. Slightly bitter in taste but sweetens out towards the end leaving a very nice aftertaste. Coffee taste is very prevelant, leaves a slight warming sensation in the belly.

Bonus from MaltOMeal a while back. Distinct prune and molasses aromas. Flavor is slightly fruity but mostly roasted malt. A hint of some cocoa in the flavor and a bit of a chalky texture. Finish is a bit too hopped up and bitter but that won’t force me to pour this one out.

Pours pitch black with a two finger dark chocolate/coffee-colored head with excellent retention, only slowly fading into a lasting cap that coats the glass with chunky rings of soapy lacing. Roasty, smokey malt aroma with lots of roasted coffee bean, bitter sweet dark chocolate, burnt toast, oatmeal, toffee and subtle earthy hops. Silky chewy viscous mouthfeel with a lot of roasted malt, bitter dark chocolate, oatmeal, toffee, biscuit, roasted coffee bean and a huge bitter earthy hop flavor with some citrus notes. This is way hoppier than expected and kind of takes away from the silky maltiness that I liked so much. The finish is long and dry with some citrus notes but mostly earthy bitter hops dominate. Well masked ABV and smooth maltiness makes it pretty drinkable but the strong hop presence kind of hurts it in this area.

Bottle thanks to tpd975. Pours a deep black with a tan head. Aroma of maple, oak, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and some caramel. Flavor is fizzy with coffee, earth, chocolate, hops, and lingering coffee bitterness. Nice beer.

Draft. Great example of what a stout should taste like, though I certainly prefer imperials. Mild carbonation in a rich, black pour - small, mocha head. Milk chocolate blends with bitter hops and a bit of roasted malts (though not so roasted as to bring out coffee notes). A great fallback when nothing more intriguing is available.

Creamy tan head, full dark body, bitter toasted, coffee, toasted malt taste with a soy sauce type aroma.
