Bottle from 2004. Pours with a thin orange colored head. Lots of bubbles stuck to the side of the glass in an otherwise black beer. Aroma is peachy with walnuts, sherry and some anise. The taste is a deep roasted coffee with notes of anise. It also has just a hint of a port wine. The roasted goodness lingers on the palate in a pleasant way. The mouthfeel is silky smooth with a hint of carbonation. A very well done stout that makes me rethink my enjoyment of the big Imperials. Thanks a lot to HeRftYDrF for first suggesting and then sending this in a trade.

This is an excellent stout. Opaque dark brown with a thick brown head. Aroma of malt and roast. Flavor is somewhat bitter, but comfortably bitter. Thick malty mouth feel. Dry finish. Thanks Buck_Dich!

Deep Dark body, just a hint of brown around the edges. Thin, light brown head. Looks good... Way roasty nose w/dark chocolate notes, espresso and alcohol. Rich, smooth and surprisingly strong. Dry, roastey, super stouty finish: coffee beans, alcohol, lots of bitter cocoa and a hint of rich smoke. I just can't believe that something this good comes from 4 ingredients. WOW

bomber from a trade with hobbersr. pour black with a mid sized tan head. laces beautifully. aroma of roasted malts, caramel, chocolate and hops. the flavour is roasted malt upfront, bakers chocolate, and hoppy finish. very dry for the weight. a touch thin but overall very good. a nice hoppy stout. i enjoyed the dryness.

Pours an opaque black with a couple fingers of slow dying chocolate milk head that laces sheets as it dissapears. Smells of coffee grinds, dark chocolate and licorice. Taste is the same as the smell. Finishes with a bitter hop bite. Medium in the mouth with a nice tickle of carbonation. Drinks like a champ but is a treat not a session. Well done.

Pours pitch-black with a medium creamy beige-brown head. Good lacing. Aroma is heavy, coffee, dark chocolate. Oily and full mouthfeel. Flavour has coffee, roasted malts but all in all lots of deep deep deep dark chocolate.

Black pour with a bit of a dark red tinge to it and a small to medium tan head. Sugar and toffee in the smell, very thick and inviting. Heavy malt in the flavor with some caramel and toffee taste and some chocolate and coffee lingering in there as well. A very nice chewy mouthfeel that lingers on the tongue. A slight bitter finish, similar to but far more mild than a dry stout. Extremely tasty, hope to visit their pub the next time I am in Seattle.

Pours black, thick beige head, good retention. Aroma is very nice, cascade hops, dark roasted malts and coffee.Flavor is deep and rich, coffee, roasted malt, some chocolate mid palate, and a very hopy bitter finish. Very dry. slightly alcoholic and a bit burnt tasting.
