Grovlam (3198), Copenhagen, Denmark May 9, 2008 Bottle. [Courtesy of yespr, thanks buddy] Large creamy off-white head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Clear golden colour. Aroma of mild grass and cardboard, caramel, grain. Light bodied with a soft carbonation and light dry texture. Light bitter and sweet flavour. Light dry and bitter grassy finish.
Muggus69 (232), Sydney, Australia Sep 5, 2008 500ml bottle. Bloke on the bottle seems pretty happy drinking it down, hope I’m the same.
Clean golden body, foamy white head. Grainy malt aroma, quite sweet, bit of floral hop with a rusty bread component for good measure. Moderate carbonation, slight creamy texture, sweet syrupiness in there going hand-in-hand with a reasonable bitterness. Biscuity malt dominates the body, quite sweet again, only a touch of grass floral hops in there. Finishes with a slightly metallic dryness and breadiness. A reasonably clean pils, overall character is probably a bit sweeter than others. DerWeg (442), Tronna, Ontario, Canada Sep 3, 2008 Bottle kindly provided by hostess in Zeitz Germany. Full malt body and good hop persistence on finish. Dense hop bouquet. Stew41 (883), Caulfield, Australia Aug 24, 2008 Blah. Not a bad beer I guess but completely unremarkable. Appearance as the genre - clear light copper and no head. Some simple sweetness on the nose with a stale element. Descriptor says hop aroma but more malt driven to me. More of the stale character to taste but I wouldn’t really call it offensive. Very mild hop impact. Nice lightly carbonated finish. Once again I’m left convinced that Czech beers are better on tap. Defreni (512), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 9, 2008 Filtreret lidt mere orange end pilsnergul. Nćsten ingen duft. Men en frugtrig lagersmag er der. Humlebitterheden er tilstede hvilket gřr det til en frisk řl. tomer (182), Israel Aug 8, 2008 0.5L bottle, labeled as Breznak Lager but the label on the bottle looks the same. Small head, dark golden colour bordering on the bronze, strong carbonation. herbal hoppy aroma with some light vanila notes, malty flavours with some vanila and mushroom notes with medium strong bitterness which is not overpowering and blends in with the rest of the flavours, sweet short aftertaste. Serious medium bodied pilsener.
