| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 26, 2009 Updated: Apr 16, 2009This may just be the world’s best beer. Unfortunately you’ll have to go all the way to Plzen to get some, as it is only available at the end of a Pilsner Urquell brewery tour or in the Na Parkanu Restaurant at the brewery museum. I would suggest, however, that it is well worth the trip. I had it at the end of the tour, in the brewery cellars, on tap, straight from an oak barrel, surely the best way invented to drink beer. Unfortunately they only give you a very small glass, because this stuff is fantastic! The yeast present gives it a cloudy gold appearance, and it pours with quite a large, firm head. Its bitterness is mild, and dominated by the strong, fruity flavour. The palate is nice and crisp, and it finishes smoothly. An almost completely faultless beer. It is simply a brilliant, shining example of what beer can be! nate2g (1108), Brisbane, Australia
