This rating is based on the wooden barrel version. Great laceworks from a dense three-finger, foamy blond head. Body is hazy, shiny golden with an orangey hue. A fresh yeasty scent up front, followed by a crisp sourish-dry, grainy malt aroma, with delicate, grassy hops and a faint citrus-fruity note. Strong malt body, considering the relatively low abv. Fresh and sour-sweet. A fine, floral and grassy hop bitterness lingers all the way to the finish. Notes of fresh yeast, wood and citrus. Mouthfeel is crisp and vivid, and a suitable cellary rawness makes it extremely drinkable. Finishes on the dry side, with lingering hops and malts. Awesome beer, and a great experience tasting it from the source.

Had this several times at both U Rudolfina, Na Spilze, U Parlamentj, Na Parkanu and direct from the barrel at the brewery. Actually I came to like the tank versions a bit better. It pours hazy golden with a fine lasting creamy egg white head and lacings. Amazing nose and taste. A bit of butter, buiscuit and yeast and lots of fresh, floral and grassy hops. Hoppy, dry and crisp. The palate is smooth. Very tasty and quaffable. shrubber85 (2943), Wallhalben, Germany
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Nov 8, 2009 Tap at Na Parkanu. Strong barley malt and yeast aroma. Cloudy amber color with giant off-white head. Yeasty barley malt flavor with a strong dry grass hops finish. Everything that’s great about Pilsner Urquell coupled with everything that’s great about an unfiltered beer - glorious. If only I could have this every day. rustychiles (1058), Mesa, Arizona, USA

Pours a nice slightly hazed golden color with a foamy white head. Aroma is malt, yeast, hops and a little bit of earthiness. The yeast stands out in this beer and melds with the bitteer saaz hops and malt to form a well balanced pils. Light fruitiness is apparent as well. Nice creamy mouthfeel and finishes easy and crisp. Hopped basic urquell aroma with flowery tones. Medium bodied. Flavor in start is similar for normal one, with flowers and hops, aftertaste lasts as bitter one and as slightly yeasty. Well, I am disappointed to this one, due to rather high expectations.
