Clean and full bodied, with some mild fruityness and touch of savory. Maybe a bit too watery, but overall subtle and well made. JohnnyJ (1353), Carlsbad, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 22, 2006 Not very good. Pours a hazy gold. Standard beer aroma. Tastes like beer with some lemon, yeast, wheat, and spices. I just didn’t like the taste very much. Naven (881), Poway, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 17, 2006 Pours a nice light gold color, with a pretty big head. No smell. No real taste, other than a hint of lemon. Reminded me of a basic American Lager. Yawn. eve (240), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 17, 2006 Slight yeasty tangy aroma, light gold with voluminous head, but the taste was thin and boring, just enough feeble yeast flavor to claim hefe status I guess but I was jealously eyeing the Franziskaner in the glass of the guy next to me. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 22, 2006 Nice looking hefe, maybe a tad lighter yellow than the usual ,very nice frothy,thick white head..
Aroma is quite subdued for style but perfectly pleasant with hints of wheat, not very yeasty, lemon grass, a hint of hay, not spicy.
Taste is quite weak here mostly wheat, some very feeble esters, bananas, peppery on the back of the tongue.
Ok on the palate, i will say average because its a very hot day here.
Not impressed with this one a weak German hefe. DarkMagus (433), San Jose, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 17, 2006 Lightly spicy floral aroma, hint of wheat and yeast. Mild array of flavors: wheat, yeast, citrus, spices...slightly acidic. Not as dense and rich as others, somewhat watery (hate to say it)... overall, pretty good...I’ll drink it again. Probably not as bad as some say... Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 12, 2006 These motherfuckers! I was well aware of this beer’s average rating so I wasn’t expecting much.....until I poured it into a glass. Holy freaking crap this sucker looks good! Gorgeous cloudy yellow color with an amazingly HUGE white head that lasts and then lasts and later lasts some more. Too bad it’s not very good in any of the other categories. The aroma isn’t horrible, hints of lemon and lots of grain. Nothing special. But then the flavor hits and I get super pissed! This beer is boring dammit and by boring I mean it’s that bad kinda boring that isn’t horrible tasting. I get hints of citrus but none of that good banana clove thing that I love in this kind of beer. I get some weird grainy sensations. Overall, I get nothing though. I’m not happy with this beer and I’m only unhappy because it doesn’t suck. There’s nothing worse than mediocrity. I could laugh at this sucker if it were terrible. Instead I get to drink it and wish it were better.
And what’s really pissing me off is that the lacing is fucking beautiful throughout my mediocre beer experience. I’ve never had a beer look so good and taste so ok.
