| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 26, 2009 Bottle. Light aromas of dark bread, grass and dough for the malt hops and yeast, with hints of brown sugar and cola. Head is small, slightly off-white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear mahogany. Flavor starts lightly acidic and finishes moderately, lightly bitter and sour. Palate is light to medium, watery and has lively carbonation. A little blah and out of balance. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 2, 2009 Bottled. Poured clear, deep coppery-brown with a short, loose-ish cap of white head. The aroma picked up brown sugar and caramel sweetness accented by hits of earth and iced tea.. dry impression and pleasant enough, but not enticing. The flavor found iced tea, caramel, and cola maltage at the core with toasty grains and a pinch of brown sugar on the back.. a little dry earth bitterness around. Lighter-bodied and dry overall on the palate, with more sweetness on the back-end.. warmth brought out some woody sourness.. just didn’t come together for me. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
