The aroma picked up brown sugar and caramel sweetness accented by hits of earth and iced tea.. dry impression and pleasant enough, but not enticing. The flavor found iced tea, caramel, and cola maltage at the core with toasty grains and a pinch of brown sugar on the back.. a little dry earth bitterness around. Lighter-bodied and dry overall on the palate, with more sweetness on the back-end.. warmth brought out some woody sourness.. just didn’t come together for me. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Some cereal grains in the aftertaste. Medium light body with lightly pointy carbonation. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle purchased at Brewery Creek in Jul-09. ericandersnavy (1141), crossroads, Texas, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 12, 2009 500 mL bottle served in lager glass- poured transparent earthy brown color, lively carbonation of tiny bubbles. One finger off tan head formed and tried it’s best to lace. Aroma of malt with notes of wheat and rye. Hits the mouth with a high-weak body, malt is there and has been slightly roasted, weak sweetness on the backend found in the middle, finish is rather lackluster- a small amount of bitterness. Slightly below sessioner class in my book. Swalden28 (1531), McKinney, Texas, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 11, 2009 Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in Plano, TX. Pours a dark brown, orange hues, off-white head. Aroma of some fruit, dark roast, some citrus. Flavor has signs of dark roast, fruity, and a citrus bitter. Mouth feel is light body with high carbonation, seemed slightly watery. Overall, not impressed at all, I didn’t care for the fruitiness/citrus mixed in with the dark roast. I expected more from this brewer. boFNjackson (1324), Portland, Oregon, USA
