Nice aroma that’s sort of a Pils/Kölsch hybrid: fresh noble hops in perfect balance with sweet yet crisp malt. Lemony citrus notes. Clear gold with long-lasting white cover. More complex flavour than a Pils or Altbier: Mouthful of 2-row malt with a smidgeon of caramel and nicely balanced hops. Some almost vinous notes including sort of dry sherry that is a bit nutty. Subtle bitterness comes in late, together with a mouth-warming ethanol. Medium body, moderate carbonation, nutty finish. Swalden28 (1531), McKinney, Texas, USA

Poured a hazy gold, fizzy white head with good retention. Aroma of light citris, somewhat lemon. Flavor has a nice malt taste similar to a nice lager, with slight fruity character. Palate is high carbonation, light-medium mouthfill. Over all I thought this was pretty good stuff! GJF (520), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 21, 2008 Pours a cloudy pale yellow with dissapating head, this ’alt’ is rather unique with a citrus and light wheat character that reminds one of recent American Wheat offerings although this brew dates back to the early 1800s.
They are rather proud of their ’organic’ makeup (my 500ml bottle is proudly certified by the USDA and I couldn’t care less)
Unique golden ale that I enjoyed but I couldn’t see drinking it in large quanties. Meatmallet (126), Salem, Illinois, USA

Taste was better than I expected. Lemon and orange up front with a yeast/musk ending. Mouthfeel was good with light carbonation.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 12, 2008 Clear golden color with lots of bubbles. Nose is salt, yeast, and wheat. Mouthfeel is very soft but medium bodied. Taste is very crisp and clean with a nice cereal finish. This is actually a well crafted brew and is the first organic I have liked. ditmier (1117), Boise, Idaho, USA
