Aug 27, 2006 (500 ml bottle from Downeast Beverage Co.) Poured into a shaker at about 85% white foam and 15% hazy yellow liquid. Aroma of honey. Mouthfeel smooth, kind of light and watery, also pretty dry. Pleasant honey malt flavor, fairly helles-like. Bit of bitterness in finish. Decent, nothing spectacular.

Aug 14, 2006 500ml bottle - Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a substantial head that fades to thin after couple minutes. It has a very light grainy malt aroma. The flavor is the same light malts with a little hops, it’s watery on the palate, and the finish is refreshing.

Aug 13, 2006 Updated: Sep 8, 2006Clear yellow beer with decent 0.25 inch white head. The aroma is weak but I can smell sweet and grainier malts along with yeast and skunkiness. The taste is much like the aroma with some sweet malts cut by dryer grain malts. Also some nice noble hoppiness to add interest. OK beer with good balance. It doesn’t warrant the $3+/bottle price though. Overall Impression is taking a 2pt hit for that.

Aug 3, 2006 Pours clear yellow with rather large frothy head. Nose is crisp apple, sweet gum, maybe a little citrus. Flavor is mildly sweet and sour, fermenting bread dough, faint hops. Slightly bitter finish. Pretty good.

Jul 8, 2006 Pours golden yellow with average head. Aroma of malt, grass and metal with some spicy hoppiness. Flavor is a bit malty sweet with a sour finish and not much depth.

Jul 8, 2006 My beer is called" Pinkus Original Obergärig Alt" This beer name is an alias of Pinkus Münstersch Alt .
On the pour the nose is tin and grass with malt.
Taste-wise it is not too bad. Lots of upfront carbonation. (If you roll this beerr in your mouth you will pick up bubblegum). Starts malt and a bit too sweet, quickly goes to citrus and lemon-grass, finish is dry. A pretty good hot weather beer.

Jul 7, 2006 Bottle. Yellowish golden, rather clear, but quite surprising given the name. Aroma is rich and malty with spicy graininess. Sweet caramel maltiness, spicy rye character, good bitterness provides a clean finish. Sparkling and full body. Quite nice- one of the better alts I have tasted so far despite its appearance.
