Fruity aroma with pear and hops. Malty-sweet flavor with some fruitiness and a light bitterness in the finish. Light fizzy and medium-bodied. I’m not too keen on the bitterness in this beer. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 4, 2006 Bottle. Clear golden with a soapy white head. Malty bouquet with vinous/grape notes. Crisp taste, mildly fruit with above-mentioned vinous character, medium-strong alcoholic mouthfeel without an alcoholic taste. A little soapy. Acidic in the middle and end, thinking it’s lactic. Not even close to an Alt (actually closer to a Kölsch), but interesting nonetheless. Thanks to pivnizub! Pinnhead (93), New Jersey, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 17, 2006 Bottle at Pike Place brew pub. I wrote "soup aroma". That can’t be right. Slightly sour taste; similar to grape juice? Was I drunk? nick76 (2657), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 10, 2006 The aroma has lots of wheat and a little yeast. The appearance is straw gold with a large white head. The flavor is grassy and malty with lemon and a light bitterness. The palate is way to thin. This is easy to drink but a little disappointing. dwyerpg (2537), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 18, 2006 I have to say that I’m getting quite good at this beer tasting. I sucessfully commented in my notes on this beer that seemed a lot more like a blonde ale than anything else. Wonder why they call it an alt - not dark or altish at all, except in aroma. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 15, 2006 Hmmmmm. I just finished the Ur-Pils from Pinkus, and I’m finding this pretty similar to be honest. It’s a little darker gold, hazy, with the same pale malt/wheaty character dominating, but a fruitier element up front (yeasty fruity though). Not bad, but not one I’d rush to try again. bb (2919), Martinez, California, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 11, 2006 Bottle. Pale straw color with a nice white head. Low malt aroma. Low grassy flavor (but not in a bad way) with some malt, lemon, and spice. Light and refreshing. Easy to drink.
