| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 25, 2005 [bottle] Pours a light yellow color, with a small, quickly dissolving head. The aroma is the most intriguing aspect of this beer- someone said fresh cigars, and I totally agree. Unfortunately, the taste isn’t as interesting as the aroma. I give it definite points for the organics. TheBeerGod (3162), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 31, 2005 Bottle. Gold body with a dense white head. Nose is different. Cedar notes, fresh cigars, yeast, and sweet malts. Dried fruit as well. Taste is very woody and sweet with citrus, yeast and wheat. Minor tobacco notes as well. Not bad, not bad. Body is light and complimented with lively microbubbles. Finish is a bit uneven, though. Lots of citrus, sweet malts, yeast, wheat and light wood. Falls apart a bit at the end but leagues better than the hefeweizen made by them.
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 9, 2005 While it doesn’t look great in the glass, this beer has some redeeming qualities for the other senses. Lots of grass, caramel malt, and dried fruit. On the palate, the beer itself is dry, with a good heft. Flavors include a corn/wheat/barley mixture that is really quite unique -- not like how those same ingredients sour a macro. Some toffee and then fruit on the close. A nice beer. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 6, 2005 Bottle from State Line in Elkton, MD. Hazy straw pour with medium, white head. Aroma of corn flakes, hopcit. Tastes corn flakey, with some almonds, honey, and finishing hopcit. Not as alty as other alts I’ve had. The palate was medium density with good balance and complexity.
