Smells like the malt house on a brewery tour with a lemony note, and I'm reminded of a freshly mowed wheat field. Medium bodied, fairly sweet and fruity with a citrus twang and subdued bitterness. Like 'em or not, Pinkus beers seem to have a style all their own. JoeM500 (1876), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 3, 2003 Munster Alt label from Merchant DuVin. Slightly hazy dark yellow with a huge meringue-like white head. Yeasty, fruity nose, very sweet. First sip is rich and creamy with much sweetness. Light taste has hints of plum and something a bit tangy. Creamy as any beer out there. But the taste just falls apart. mribm (419), Hurley, New York, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 27, 2003 Bottle. Pale light orange yellow cloudy color with nice white head. Didn't taste much like an alt, more like a helles crossed with a pilsener. Very drinkable, with a touch of honey, clean and smooth. jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Sep 26, 2003 Sweet, fruity and bready aroma. Thick fluffy head and slightly cloudy golden appearance. Sweet banana clove-type flavor reminiscent of a belgian ale. An interesting beer, but nothing very memorable. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 24, 2003 You know this one was really not all that it is cracked up to be. POurs a very pale golden color with a bit of a frothy head, that lasts and lasts. Aroma is grassy, slightly barnyard and musky. The tasteis lightly toasted with some yeasty doughly malt taste coming through. Almost a cornbread taste. A nice lasting bitter taste in the finish. It just was not as upfront as I was expecting, not a bad beer, but not something I would seek out again. wunderbier (1267), Tampere, Finland
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 5, 2003 50 cL bottle, pint glass, 48 degrees. Large, white, frothy, foamy, well lasting head is on an orange-amber body which is hazy from dense, tiny particles. Cookie and toasted light bread malt; flowery, grassy hops; apples, pears, and some toffee also. Lightly sweet throughout with moderate bitterness in the finish. Lightly acidity up front becomes a moderate, citric bite in the finish. Lasting, slightly unclean grassy flavor is left in the back of my mouth. Not nearly as malty as the aroma indicated. Fizzy carbonation, medium body, dry on the palate. The bottom line is: decent, but not quite as good as the sum of the parts. guzzler67 (1286), Hanover, Maryland, USA
