Sadly today I learnt that even MJ can be wrong. Pinkus Muller Organic Alt does not exist. Page 371 of Michael Jackson’s Classic Brews and only 386 of his Classic 499 Brews to go.

Cloudy yellow the colour of straw. Caramel aroma, noticeable in flavour along with some dry cereal notes. Pretty thin...maybe not fresh enough.

Cloudy pale straw colour with thin stark white head. Spicy malt nose. Grassy malt taste with lingering tang malt finish.

500mL bottle. Smells like an authentic German Lager!!!! Crisp bitter malt aroma. (Even the aroma has balance) hazy golden color. Medium white foam floating on the surface. Skunky bitterness is very forward. very strong hop. sharp swiss cheese finish? (interesting) Very dry. Organics here make a big difference.

Not bad. Tastes quite light and it’s hard to get much of anything, besides perhaps a bit of cornbreadiness. Like I said, not a bad beer, but it’s not a favorite of mine, though I should temper this by admitting I’m not an hugepilsner drinker.

Light aroma of malt and yeast. Cloudy light golden color with fine particals floating. Small head with decent lacing. Mild flowery hop finish and carbonation bite.

500 ml bottle, from Capone’s in Norristown PA. Pours a slightly hazy pale yellow gold. Nice small foamy bright white head with good retention. Good amounts of lacing. Nose is bready and doughy with a light delicate floral hoppiness and a little yeast. Flavor is lightly doughy pils malt with a nice soft hoppiness. Finishes with a light vegetal note and a little yeast. Body is light and soft with a fairly watery texture and fizzy carbonation. A pretty nice beer, I was surprised to see this so poorly rated. I think that the unfiltered nature of this was a welcome change from the average Pilsener, I wish more would do it.

Far too cloudy for the style.Cloudy gold, small white head.Light sweet malt nose.Light malt palate with barely noticeable saaz hops. More of a lager
