Cask at Pints Pub. Pours clear tawny with an average, rocky white head, mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cereal), heavy hop (herbs, celery, grass, resin), average yeast (sweat, earth, musty) with notes of plum, dates, apricot, and sour milk. Light bodied, mineral texture, soft carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness.

cask. clear caramel colored body. nose: maraschino cherry and sweet vanilla/almond/amaretto nose. barley-wine caramel malt flavor, high bitterness, medium acidity. Nicely bitter, different and unique, it’s likable.

On tap at The Pints & Pub, in cask, amber color, with a white head, nice floral hop fruity nose of apricots, peaches, pineapples, having the hint of a whiskey fruitiness, with some mild earthy toasty, caramelized malt accents, with a toffeeish note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a fruity, toasty malt character, with a good flowery hop leafy, grassy accent, some citrusy undertones, with a hint of mintiness, and with a kind of a vanilla oakiness, leading towards a well hopped, leafy bitterness finish.

I think these rates are somewhat off. I had this beer yesterday and it was barely palatable. copper hazy color with a whimpy off white head. This is a hand pumped ale so not much carbonation here at all. slight hop ridden nose. Off flavors of apples and weak watered down hops with little malt character at all. Tangy and accumulating on the palate like a rancid fruit. i didnt even fininsh the whole thing.

On cask @ Pints Pub poured a clear copper with a small lastin g amber head. Aromas of carmel, spice, earthiness, toffee, light brown sugar, light fruitiness and a hint of pine. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of earthiness, carmel, toffee and a hint of pine with a smooth lingering Bitter/earthy finish.

Cask at the pub. Amber beer with light carbonation. Served at around room temperature, sweet finish, wouldn’t get a full pint of this, but a great taster/half pint

Cask ale. Pretty smooth with a mild bitterness. An english style IPA. Smooth going down with a clean finish. Supplemented the hot wings nicely.

Cask at the brewpub. Reddish amber with but a watery, bubbly head. The hoppiness in this room-temperature serving comes over with a tea-like essence, sweet and caramel. Decent. (#3129, 10/10/2007)
