Brewer has changed the yeast in this one give it a bit more of a fruity flavor. Definetly worth trying two or three of. awaller05 (301), Sharon, Wisconsin, USA

Opened and poured this into a glass and got a nice white head from the pour. A cloudy yellow brew awaits you . A sweet smell eminates from the beer and entices you into a first taste. High carbonation works its way through your mouth as a strong fruity taste goes down the gullet. A tart aftertaste like a cherry taste finishs this one. I like the taste and would have no problem recommending this one to people

This is a staple of my frequent camping trips near Black River Falls. Hazy yellow color, fruity aroma and smooth, citrusy taste. Not bad at all. arkurzynski (100), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA

This has a clean wheaty smell upon opening, though some adjunct seems present. Pours a slightly dark yellow, like a hearty pilsener, under a thin head with minimal lacing. Taste is slightly malty and wheaty with some citrus zest, and a just a bit of German hops. This doesn't match up to Goose Island Summertime, the only other Kölsch I've rated, but it's a nice, light ale. And as the list of top Kölsches to the right demonstrates, it's a hard style to make an exceptional example in. CaptainCougar (5527), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Sweaty pale malty sweet nose has some light fruity esters and is pretty true to style. Body starts with a light sweetness and some light earthy bittering hop balance. Finishes smooth and drinkable. A pretty decent Kölsch. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA

More malt and sweetness than expected (not that that’s all bad, mind you), thus making it more of a blond ale, but I’m nitpicking. An eminently drinkable summer ale that, alas, I’m drinking in November! Such is life. Rerate 6/26/05: Same rating.
