Not that it’s anything great, more like a Vienna wannabe. I’s got an orange/copper body with a slender yet sustained off-white head. The aroma is faint, sweet malt with a subtle floral/herbal hopping. It’s thin with a sweet bready flavor and just a touch of bitterness to keep the sweetness under control. Decent enough for a watery brew.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 21, 2005 From a bottle, pours a medium amber with a healthy white head. It seemed ever so slightly cloudy when held up to the light. Darker color than the usual mainstream lager. The head sticks around until the glass is drained. Not a hefty beer but quite tasty, with more bitter overtones than I would have expected (especially from the brewer’s description). Goes down very easily--great beer for introducing someone to the "craft beer" scene. JPDIPSO (4932), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 18, 2004 Dark golden color with a moderate off white head. Malt and mild floral hops aromas. A real older style lager. Rich malt base that simply says, this is beer. This was the type of beer that was on tap across the US 50 years ago. Straight forward brew. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 4, 2004 I agree with the firm backbone of maltiness, however, i don't think it's that uninteresting. color is amber, head is VERY thing. aroma is all malt and quite grainy. flavor is essentially the same. not horribly interesting, but not too bad. There's a lot in its favor: a sudsy head over an amber body and a malty nose, a little like a Vienna. And yes, a malty, slightly sticky taste, but as they say, very little hop flavor. After being well pleased with this brewery's Oscar's Chocolate Oatmeal Stout, this is kind of a letdown. But if this is their "flagship" brand, it's a little better example to have on the shelves than any mega-lager. JoeM500 (1876), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA

My comments are about the same as TrappistAlesRule, but replace Blueberry Ale with Cranberry Special Ale"! Nothing bad or offensive, easy to drink, refreshing and smooth, but nothing to go out of your way for. TAR (2095), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA
