It seemed ever so slightly cloudy when held up to the light. Darker color than the usual mainstream lager. The head sticks around until the glass is drained. Not a hefty beer but quite tasty, with more bitter overtones than I would have expected (especially from the brewer’s description). Goes down very easily--great beer for introducing someone to the "craft beer" scene. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 9, 2006 Better than I thought it would be. Pours a medium amber with a small head. Aroma is light malt and very light hops. Taste seems a tad watered down but is still pretty good. Light malts and hops. badgerben (3600), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 13, 2009 Courtesy of Skyview. Very murky brown/orange color with a quickly collapsing large head. Fairly heavy floral and citrus hops for a pale lager. Those fade in the flavor a lot. Mostly grains and caramel. Ughsmash (4030), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 18, 2007 Bottled. Poured clear orangey-golden with a tall, rocky cap of white head. Aroma was of sweet bready malts with dusty floral and sweet grains... quite pleasant. Flavor almost held serve, but picked up a soapy component.. sweet bready base with sufficient floral bitterness. Lighter-bodied, but never struck me as watery.. crisp and refreshing. Nice one. TerryR (383), Oswego, Illinois, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 18, 2004 Dark golden color with a moderate off white head. Malt and mild floral hops aromas. A real older style lager. Rich malt base that simply says, this is beer. This was the type of beer that was on tap across the US 50 years ago. Straight forward brew. hogan873 (330), Joliet, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 30, 2006 I was impressed by this beer. The bottle did not scream try me, but I figured why not. Pours a dark orange with an off-white head. There’s a hint of coffee in the aroma, but that’s about it. The taste was above average. Bold up front with a smooth finish. A touch of citrus?
