Event: Junedale Beer Klub - April Beer Tasting (Maibocks)
Serving: 12 oz bottles shared by WWWarrior.

Tasting Notes
Aroma: Lots of malt (caramel).
Appearance: Hazy dark honey color with a thin ivory head.
Flavor: Caramel malt with some deep fruitiness. There is also a flavor that is more dark and roasty lurking in the background that I can’t put my finger on (chocolate maybe?)...
Palate: Medium-full body; smooth with a slight creaminess.
Overall: Quite good and different than expected. One of my favorites of the evening...

Red-brown like cherry wood with an off-white head that holds up well. A very nutty, biscuit and honey beer that finishes dry and clean, but thin. Malty and chewy in the center. This is more like a nut brown than a bock. In fact I’m not sure it is a lager. A bit estery - reminds me of New Glarus’ marzen.. But overall I like it. It looks great in the glass, and is quite quaffable.

Dark caramel color. Smell of prunes, malt, caramel, molasses, sugar cane and nuts. Taste of honey, prunes, sugar, malt, nuts and a dry sweetness at the end. As it warms, I can taste maple and some peaches.

Given to us while taking the tour. Light ,sweet sugar candy maltiness in aroma, hint of maple, ,taste is very light heavy on the malt with toffee, maple, and honey ,pleasant drinkable,The sweetness is more of a dopplebock.

12oz bottle. Poured a deeper and cloudy copper color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, toasted nuts, light chocolate and lightly fruity. Tastes of caramel, toasted nuts, light honey and a touch of chocolate. Has a medium honey sweetness to it.

from a 12 oz bottle. Decent head that thinned out. Carmel sweet smell and flavor. Maybe too much for the style. A bit thin for the "HUGE amounts of munich malt." It got even sweeter as It warmed. Doesn’t stack up to german bock beer.

(Bottle via trade with <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/View-User-38026.htm target=blank>buckybeer, thanks Mark!) Pretty mild bock but OK...Pours dark orangey-brown iced tea color, clear, about 2 fingers of biege head. Aroma is caramel with some honey. Mouthfeel kind of prickly but pretty smooth. Flavor is mildly caramel and lightly honeyish but sweetness is low. A little wet cardboard in there too. Light-medium bitterness.
