Earthy malty and chocolate. Slight anise and raisins. Medium bodied, and man is this smooth! Mouthfeel ramains rather constant until the Caramel kicks in, then the bitter hop finish. So I guess that it doesn’t remain rather constant, duh. Good coffee note, but there is this earthy, muddled flavor that I cannot put my finger on. After reading a few notes below, I came across "cardboard" (thanks El-Borracho) I hope that this doesn’t count as palgirism, I was just the flavor that was elluding me! And not much else. Sweet caramel nose with strawberries, and toast, buttered toast. Tastes just like the aroma led me to believe: sweet caramel, a bit of fruit, more like wild berries than strawberries, and a biscuity flavor. A bit metallic on the back end, and has a husky flavor that comes out halfway through the glass. Not a bad bock.

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 5, 2006 Golden/coppery with thin streams of carbonation, topped with a thin, cream-colored skin. Light aromas of caramel and milk. Floral notes come out in the flavor amidst light sweetness and fruitiness. An overall weak offering.

Nice orange color with a slight, off-white head. A toasted malt makes itself known in both nose and taste, but it’s only moderately sweet. A touch of juicy fruits. Kind of a rough palate. Little of any hop presence. Finishes on a slightly peppery, faintly caramel note. I need a beer. A bock!

Pours clear amber with small off-white head. No discernable carbonation. Caramel and toasted malt aromas. Medium-to-full bodied bock with moderate malt sweetness and toffee/toasted malt flavors. Finishes with toasty malt fade. No perceptible hop presence. Very smooth and malty in mouth. Malty flavor that strongly resembles Big Sky’s Moose Drool brown ale which I really enjoyed. A luscious malty bock. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA

The taste has sweet caramel and some decent roasted green beans. There is also a hint of toffee in the finish. The bosy is thin. This is a decent bock.
