Commercial Description:
Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

Bottle in a Belgian sample pack I received for Christmas. Golden, slightly cloudy pour into a trappist glass. Large white fizzy, frothy head. Aroma of bananas, yeast and some spices. Nice dry taste of slight hops with Belgian yeast and a nice full mouthfeel. Lasting somewhat sharp finish.

Brewery glassware on tap (Sharp Edge, Pgh) Pours a deep straw color, pleasant thin white head. Smooth fruity (pineapple, peaches) on the aroma, some hop character, but the fruit overwhelms any bitterness in the aroma. Tastes smooth and sweet, boozy with flavors matching the nose. There is no hiding of the alcohol content, and in this case, it works well. Some bread aftertaste, but none striking in the overall mouth feel. Great beer, one of my favorites on tap.

Poured from the bottle into a trappist glass to drink. The beer had a clear orange-copper color with a good-sized, foamy, white head that had decent retention and good cling. A candy and toffee aroma with sweet caramel and a touch of citrus and perhaps pine hops. The taste was sweet and candy like with a bit of citrus with some underlying bitterness. A lighter, fizzy feel with a drying effect that was a little bit rough. Definitely a good beer, but not one of my favorites in this genre.

330ml Bottle: Aroma of hops, light alcohol, yeast, slight sour apples, sweet malts, light herbs, light grass, slight pepper, and a hint of funk. Poured golden/amber in color with a medium to large-sized, rocky, white head that lasted throughout. Clear. Sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of fruit, nectar, yeast, hops, slight resin, light herbs, malts, and light grass. Medium body. Slick, oily texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, fruity, yeasty finish is a tad dry. 10.5%ABV is completely hidden.

A 0.33L bottle at Brics Inn Jyväskylä. Slightly hazy pale golden yellow colour. Mild slightly sweet nose. Mild slightly alcoholic taste. Some vinelikeness. Grass notes in the nose. White head. Soft and slightly sweet taste when getting warm. At the end some hoppy bitterness and some hints of apple.
