Commercial Description:
Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

Pours a golden yellow with a foamy white head. Smells of citrus fruit and a little alcohol. Hops hit the tounge first, then the taste is malt and has a sweet taste that lingers. The alcohol barely comes through. Medium body with good carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with nice white head that leaves good lacing around the glass. Aroma is fruity, sweet, and spicy with a hint of hops and malt. Taste is wonderful, sweet fruits and spices playing excellent off of one another, with a dry crisp finish. Mouthfeel was tangy but clean and not syrupy. It amazes me that with such a high alcohol content this beer really has a great taste. I really enjoy Piraat it has become my go to Belgian beer.

Bottled 33cl. It pours a pale hazy golden beer with a huge beautiful white head. The nose is of grapefruit, grapes, melon, alcohol and lemon. A very strong aroma. A bit acidic. The flavor is mainly of melon, grapefruit and lemon. A bready malt character. Hoppy with a hint of pine needles. There is quite a bite to this beer. A lot of alcohol accompanied by a great bitterness. Unexpected dry spicy peppery finish.

Bottle. Pours sparkling dark amber with large rocky off-white head. Aroma is bready, with toasted grain, honey, pepper, chalk, moderate herbs and grassiness, along with hints of citrus lemon. Some doughy - earthy yeastiness. Flavor is moderately sweet, with moderate bitterness. Finish has mild sour-acidic flavor with light bitterness, citric hop flavors stand out. Body is moderately full, with some dryness, slightly syrupy. Alcohol is present.

Bottle: Poured a clear blonde with a huge froathy head. The aroma is sharp with yeast and hops. Taste is corny with malts. Alcohol is very hidden.

Pours a semi cloudy honey yellow with a thick layer of white head. Aroma is of citrus (more lemony/orange) and yeast. Flavor is definitely sweet with each yeast-filled sip. Fruits/citrus, malt and hints of spice (clove). Body is medium thickness (perfect body for this ale). Definitely surprised by this ale--pleasantly so. Thank God for Beligian Ales and Belgium :)

Pours a yellow/amber. Decent seafoam head. Smells of fresh bread with a hint of citrus. Flavor is pretty damn impressive. Sharp sweet malt, orange hard candy. Then goes to a doughy and lastlty quick hop finish. Great stuff. Even though I hate pirates, I’ll drink it again soon.
