Golden, lightly reddish bodied with smaller white head. Fruity and spicy aroma, mostly banana and cinnamon, with alcohol being quite evident already here. Flavor is quite simple which at this point of tasting (last beer that night) was not quite satisfying. Sweet malty, with hint of fruits, with alcohol punch, all in all well made. Finish is very pleasant and long with fruits dominating again. Nothing special for Strong Ale, but of course, very good beer. exadore (92), Sacramento, California, USA

Poured a nice straw color, a little thin and watery looking, with excellent finger high head, good retention. Hoppy malty nose, with a hint of spice. Tastes sweet and spiced, yeasty dry finish. Much better than I expected. Codythegreat (146), Carrollton, Georgia, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 2, 2007 Bottle... Hazy yellow ale with a huge, frothy, white head; diminishes to a small, tight, everlasting, creamy cap. The yeasty, pale malt nose offers notes of white bread, biscuit, fuzzy and tropical fruits... maybe mango, possibly papaya; definitely apricot with rumors of acidic funk and a clove phenol. Heavily sweet, fruity and hot... red hot. Every bit of that 10.5% ABV shines right on through. Medium bitter from hops and alcohol. Full-bodied with an almost creamy mouthfeel and prickly carbonation. Sweet, fruity, boozy finish. Opium-based, I think. This was one mind-altering 750 ml bottle! ;-) jobyone (234), Charlotte, USA
