Draft. Had this tasty brew at Teresa’s Next Door in Wayne, PA. Poured honey gold with thin, white head. Hoppy aroma with hints of spice. Medium body. Unique finish. Decent Belgian strong.

Bottle pours a cloudy, honey-lemon color with a sea of white foam resting on top like a blanket. A constant stream of carbonation rises from the bottom of the tulip glass. The aroma is filled with yeast and spice notes, but there is also an interesting touch a smokiness as well. Sweet flavor initially with more of the yeast and spice characteristics followed by a slight tartness in the finish. Nice warmth from the alcohol without overpowering. Not a bad Belgian Strong Ale, but not my favorite either.

Looks absolutely wonderful in the Duvel tulip. Really see the etched D do it’s work. Smell is a bit weird, spicy bread? I’ve had both of those in a beer before, but not in this way. Taste is a bit spicier than I would like as well. Palate is good. I have no particular issues with this beer on the whole, but for myself, I don’t see myself buying another.

golden pour with a slight offwhite head. Aroma is sweet caramel, yeasty with some belgian spice. Flavor reflects this, yeasty and sweet with some spice. a bit of alcohol warmth on the finish.

Sampled at an outdoor beer tasting sponsored by Doti Liquors, Elmhurst, IL. Poured to my fest/wine glass a golden hue with good, white foam and web-like lacing. The aroma was fruit sweetness as apples and pears, with some light citrus and spice. The flavor followed these nicely and added smooth malt, appropriate hop bitterness, some nice alcohol warmth, and a dry finish. Very nice!

Verry richfull taste malty and sweet fruit hints, i drink it at my terras on a summer evening wen the sun come’s down and shine true my "piraat" tulp .... tis must be heaven :)

A reall nice strong Belgian. Lots of fruits, citrus notes. Sweet and carmel finish. Warming me up nicely.
