Commercial Description:
Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

Pours a golden color with a good amount of head. The aroma is of spices and perhaps a hint of citrus. The high alcohol content is well masked. There is a slightly sweet undertone to the flavor. There is bit too much carbonation for my taste but still a very good brew.

Huge foamy white head. Aroma of candi sugar, spices, yeast. Flavor is estery with notes of pineapple and a sharp bitterness. Finishes dry.

Poured this into a Corsendonk glass, methinks that was a mistake. This beer is heavily carbonated (so much that once I removed the cap, the cork almost removed itself), and pouring gave a huge, thick, long lasting head. The aroma is the slight sweet and spice of a standard Belgian, and the coloration is a light amber. The flavor is an interesting blend of spice, with a slight hop hint. Overall, this is a good beer, but not one I’d get every day. An interesting choice for my 100th rating.

Pours a golden color with a nice white head. Spicy, yeasty aroma. Also has a smell of burritos or other Mexican food. I cannot explain that one. Taste is smooth, fruity, creamy, yeasty and carbonated. Good.

Bottle. 11.2 fl. oz. Pours a hazy, golden yellow with with big, white sudsy head and good lacing. Very strong aroma of fruits and alcohol . Nice palate. Heavily carbonated. Flavor is very sweet with a long, dry, alcoholic finish. A good, strong beer.

The alcohol is accentuated along with a grainy bitter hoppy kick that seems decently balanced by malts. The fruit tones remind me more of grapes and apricots. The body has some dryness in the aftertaste but is a bit watery. It could use some more spices.

Pours really nice, but taste is almost non exsistent. Very strong kick, that is attemped to be hidden. Strong taste of nutmeg.
