Commercial Description:
Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

A bad ass beer. Draft at so many places but the most recent was South Park Tavern in Dayton, OH. The pour is clear, very light amber with a nose of fruit and yeast. The flavor is strong, hot, fruity with some yeast. The classic Belgian beer with a lot of power. Sweet, fruity, and big, this Belgian is a damn good beer.

Very strong belgium beer that really does pack a punch this pours with a dark golden head and has a strong aroma of alchol and hops. A little to bitter and rough for my tastes

11.2 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy golden color with a large frothy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is very bready and yeasty with lots of fruity notes primarily raisin, citrus, peach. Candi sugar, clove and cinnamon as well. The taste is bread, candi sugar, mustard seed, cinnamon, clove, raisins, citrus, booze and pepper. Very warm. Full bodied. Good beer.

Slightly fruity aroma with dough/yeast smells. Nice, thick white head. Golden amber in color with a lot of carbonation present. Great lacing. Bitter aftertaste with an alcohol taste present. Has a complex flavor. Has the Belgium yeast flavor but the alcohol is too evident for my taste. Ok beer but there are better Belgiums.

Poured a bright illuminating golden color with a huge head. After a couple minutes when the foam went down, the aroma hit me with strong notes of honey, alcohol and wheat. Taste was very rich, sort of zesty. Green apple, pear and lemon on the nose. Flavors were pleasent, with a noticeable alcohol in the back of the mouth.

Smells strong of light malts and alcohol. Very light in appearance, good head on pour but doesn’t last, very clear, medium red hues. Heavy malt flavours with carbonations, almost an apple taste from a lighter beer but before you get the full apple taste the heaviness of the yeast takes over the taste. Strong flavour, but not as well rounded as in the description. I’d say the smell and the aftertaste are huge peaks in this beer.

draft. aroma of eggy yeast, light banana and candi sugar. flavor is belgian spice and almost sour bitterness, good lemon note. interesting balance of candi sweetness and hop bitterness. translucent darkened straw body with huge head that disappears so magically i wonder if my glass was dirty. thin, flat mouthfeel. booze begins to show only as beer slowly opens.
