Commercial Description:
Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

The aroma is very sweet and alchoholic with notes of fruit. The color is a clear amber and it has a beutiful head, though it disappears. The flavor is very powerful and fruity. The alchohol content is hidden but gives it a great palate and prickles your tongue. It ends on a dry note instead of bitterness. A really great beer.

(Bottle 33 cl) Have been looking for this for quite some time and found it in "De Hopduvel" in Gent. So far I haven’t been that fond of the beers from Bios/Van Steenberge, but this fares a lot better. Pale golden, somewhat hazy with lots of sweet malt. In spite of the strong alcohol and full body this is pretty easy to drink. A pleasure. 070896

33 cL bottle. Pours golden clear yellow with a huge white head. Fruity. yeasty, slight brett-ish aroma, not sure this is 100% clean, but flavour was quite nice anyway. Flavour is fruity, solid sweet caramel malt base and a nice yeasty mellow note. Ends with a nice lingering fruity and yeasty flavours with a touch of caramel and a little alcohol warmth.

Bottle at ÅBF08. Clear golden colour. Small creamy white head. Good vinous flavour, some Belgian yeast. Gets grainy in the finish. The alcohol warms, but is not rough.

Draught. Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is sweet fruits, malts and some slight bittering hops and glue. Flavour is glueish alcohol, which keeps the drinker warm indeed. The rest of the flavourexperience is sweet caramel malts and fruits.
