The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also, dark, almost black, huge head for a bock. Starts very malty, deep, dry. Very rousty-smoky notes, a little bit alcoholic. Intense malty finish, very drinkable. Great beer!

It’s hazy mahogany red with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and cabbage. The flavor has a moderate sweetness and notes of roasted malt, caramel, and in the slightly dry and bitter finish I find citrus.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Clear, orangey brown with an off-white head. Aroma of pumpernickel and roasted malts. Full-bodied with plenty of roasted malt and pumpernickel and an underlying acidity. Some bitterness in the finish. 281108

50 cL bottle, courtesy of fonefan. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a diminished white head. Spiced and roasted malty aroma. Sweet malty, yet also solid roasted and bitter/spiced flavoured. Smooth malty and roasted finish. Holds a mild breadish note but dominant bitter into the finish.

Bottle, 7.3%. Quite malty aroma. Dark malts and spicy hops. Metallic flavour, quite malty. OK pepper note. Too much metal puts me off.

Chocolat light roasted aroma. Redish brown color, light brown head, good lace, bottle conditioned. Sweet chocolat start, caramel, nice hops, roasted bitter finish, alcoholic, little cheesy in the very end. This is a doppelbock that could very well be beating Andechser and Ayinger if more people would be able to rate it.
