Aug 1, 2009 On tap at the brewery pours brown color with light tan head. Aroma is almond and caramel malt. Opulent mouthfeel. Flavor is slightly nutty and finishes somewhat dry. This is a typical brown and was nice.

Mar 6, 2009 Served on draft at Barley’s in Asheville, NC. Pours a clear deep brownish red. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of light roasted malts, raisin and chocolate. Taste is dark malts, raisin, subtle citrus, chocolate and subtle hop bitterness. Medium to full bodied with a creamy texture.

Jan 24, 2009 Sampled from a growler. This is full of your requisite nutty character and caramel malt flavors. Aromas of crystal sugar and a bit of toasted wheat grain. Caramel sweetness in the flavor. Very nice example of an underappreciated style.
