muddy dark amber, whispy beige head, nice drippy lace, rich malt flavor with lots of earthy hops on a dry carmel malt base, touch of carmel sweetness, a hoppy old ale?

still the heavy handed earthy hops and bitterness, picks up a wonderful carmel sweetness after about an hour that balances it out nicely

getting a nice spicyness along with the earthyness in both the aroma and flavor,

spicy chocolate continues to be the dominant aroma, the chocolate flavor is very dry and earthy, just a touch of caramel sweetness sneaks out ot add balance,

Sampled from Growler provided by Zrrbrrt. Poured a deeper amber color with a very small sized off white head. Aromas of earth, caramel and had a very light green hoppiness to it. Tastes follow suit. Lightly bitter finish. Thin body.

Thanks to Josh for sharing this growler. Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with an average off white head. Aroma of earthy hops, hay, a bit bready and caramel malts. Flavor of earthy hops, some toasted malts, nice hop bitterness balanced nicely by the malt.

Draught at the World Beer Festival, Durham, NC. Amber color with alchol and slightly citrusy hop nose. Prominent alcohol and malt flavors with hop undertones. Very little hop bitterness. So-so.

Yet another growler from Degarth. Thanks. The pour is brown with amber highlights to go along with a tan head and nice lacing. The aroma is a bit mild with some malty roastiness mixed with light dark fruitiness. The taste is much like the aroma with dates, prunes and some raisins that slowly turn more and more into a roasted maltiness. The finish is mostly roasted malts that linger for some time. For an organic beer I didn’t pick up any of the stale malts that have become a hallmark of an organic brew, to me.

Orangey brown. Smoky, fruity aroma. Smooth and malty, with a viscous palate. Very nice malt flavors with a smoky, piney hop finish.

Sampled on draft at the brewery. Pours a reddish copper with a large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is nutty and slightly tart with a bit of a hop bite. Taste is nuts, caramel, sweet malts and assertive citrus hop notes. Medium bodied.
