Appearance: Pours a lightly hazy, chestnut brown body with a very frothy, tall, off-white head. Smell: Sweetish, caramel-minded aroma with a distinct waft of alcohol and lesser notes of bread and citrus pith. Taste: Slightly bready maltiness with a middling amount of caramel sweetness. Touch of citrus. Resounding, resinous hop bitterness. Pinch of freshly-grated spices. Hint of candied lemon peel on the otherwise bitter, somewhat boozy finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation. Drinkability: Ask me again in a few years.

Pours a clear chestnut color. Aroma is subdued and mellow. Mostly malt dominant, some dried fruit does come through. The flavor is very mellow and unobtrusive. Not very exciting.

750ml bottle, caged and corked. Medium brown. Foamy white head. Plain malt aroma. Flavor is way to big. Heavy bodied BW with big alcohol. Heavy, strong. Not the best, but well.

Aroma of brown sugar hints of hops and raisins. Lightly hazed brown pour with a light tan head and lace. A very well hidden abv on the front and fades to a good warmth. A good hops presence. A good solid palate and carbonation. A very nice BW.

750 ml, April 2008 bottling. Translucent chestnut with ruby highlights. Two-finger lasting head with frosty lace. Aroma of brown sugar, light spice, and oak. Front favor is lightly spicy brown sugar with mixed berries and alcohol. Turns to woody resin and slight citrus, then all bitter wood on the finish. Medium-heavy body is smoothish and dry.

Tried again recently. A nicely done brew that I found a little smoother, but maybe that was due to age. Noogfest ’08. The body was hazy dark copper with a khaki head. The aroma was caramel with some sweet donuts. There was also some pear. The taste was pears with some cinnamon. A nice spicy finish.

Poured a hazy brown-amber color with a large off-white head. The aroma is sweet and malty. Some fruity notes with a citrus hop back. Fruity sweet malt flavor with some candy notes. Nice hops running through. Medium-full boided. Nice warmingsensation.
