Commercial Description:
IPA was originally brewed strong and hoppy to survive the long trip by sea from England to India. Treat yourself to this American version of a classic strong ale. 51.2 IBU

Growler. Hazy light orange pour with a white head. Citrus hop aroma with a bit of sweet malt. The taste is a little milder than the aroma with the same hop profile and some caramel in the finish.

Growler from Bruisin’ Ales on 11/1/08. Clear, burnt orange body under a large, creamy, rocky, off white head that lasts a long time and leaves a sticky, articulated lace. Fresh piney hop aroma with a good dose of caramel, and notable citrus. Medium body and light to medium carbonation, resinous, yet with nice smoothness and a dry palate. Solid caramel sweetness up front, quickly overtaken by an intense citrus rind bitterness that ushers in a long, dry finish. An excellent American style IPA, obviously very fresh, with all the right qualities.

Growler from Bruisin’ Ales, Asheville. Pours a deep clear amber-orange with a small but lingering white head. Nose is strong citrus, shades of lemongrass and orange, some mild pale malt sweetness. Body is a bit thin but the hops come through nice and sweet, with strong tangerine character. Ends with a nice solid leafy hop presence. A rather potable IPA.

Growler, courtesy of Schutzenliesel. Hazy light amber body with a small off-white cover. The nose is tea, caramel, tangerine and grapefruit. The flavor is fairly sweet and floral with cotton candy, caramel and grapefruit. Medium body is soft with light carbonation.

A dark orange IPA. A lot darker and heavier then I expected. A consistent hoppy character for an IPA, but I wasn’t really impressed.

clear copper, frothy cream head, nice scattered lace, citrus hop aroma, very creamy body, lots of great hop flavor with good citrus character, good balancing malt with a touch of sweetness, light bitter finish, it’s all about the hop flavor making a great drinkable IPA

hazy copper, hop character in the aroma and flavor is subdued, the hops are lots in a growler from the store cooler
