| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 23, 2007 Black pour, with a medium, well-retained light brown head. Mild chocolate aroma, musty dark malts, and mild roast seems to make up the smells. The taste has some nice body to it, a little bit roasty, with slightly more chocolate characters. Pretty nice porter, nothing exciting, but solid overall. ChainGangGuy (2619), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 23, 2007 Appearance: Pours chestnut brown body with a thin, fizzy beige head.
Smell: Subtle aroma of earthy bittersweet chocolate with a hint of nuts.
Taste: Light bittersweet chocolate taste rounded out by a soft roastiness. Just a touch of hops in the dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A simple, though decent porter. I had this on-tap at Barley’s in Asheville and later the Brewgrass Beer Festival. OldGrowth (1434), North Carolina, USA

Pours a cloudy brown color; off-white head with patchy lacing. Pleasant roasted malts and chocolate in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel: pleasant, light carbonation; roasted malts and milk chocolate, with a light acidic citrus character; well-balanced and very drinkable. Medium, milk chocolate and dry roasted malts in the finish. jasonp (1514), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA

Brown Ale-type appearance (dark brown, somewhat clear) with a quickly fading head. Lightly roasted nose, rather subtle. Flavor of caramel, toastiness, a little nuttiness, chocolate and a slight tinge of roast. Pleasant sweetness level with balancing hops. Proper medium mouthfeel consistent with the style along with moderate to soft carbonation. Overall, very solid and drinkable.
