Tap @ Barleys Taproom Asheville, NC. Pours a hazy golden with a small white head that fades leaving some lacing. Aroma of bananas, yeast spice, and pilsner malt. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and well hidden alcohol. Very good.

At a Pisgah tasting at Bruisin’ Ales, Asheville, from a growler. This is their year-round Belgian Trippel offering. A sour nose (yum!) gives rise to fruity esters, and the only thing that made it less than superb was that once-again (like in the porter) slightly watery finish. Otherwise, very solid and true to the style. Gouda made it better with regards to the finish.

On tap at Barley’s Taproom 9/21/2007. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a small, cream-like white head. Nose is full of spice, coriander and cloves come to mind, along with hints of the heavy dose of alcohol that pervades this beer. Flavor is sweet and hot with hints of cinnamon in the finish. Weird. Still a pretty darn good locally made tripel, but they could pipe down the alcohol a little bit.

A slightly hazed golden pour whti a cramy white head and lace. Corriander comse thorugh on the nose. The yeast really dominates the nose. A slghtly sour flaor that is really refreshing and compliments the yeastiness of this beer well. It is almost citrusy but not. Carbonation is true to the style maybe just a tad silker than I would have thought. Smooth solid mouthfeel. A very good beer.

Poured a cloudy golden with a white head. Had hints of belgian candied sugar, belgian yeast, and typical citrus fruits. Finished medium bodied and smooth with some sweetness on the backend. Very good, could not get enough. Kinda like crack.

Pours a cloudy gold, with a small white head. Smells a little spicy, with a tart orange peel aroma. Pretty interesting for a tripel. A little unusual perhaps. The flavor is alot of the same. Big on the orange citrus, with a little tart funkiness and some sweet cinnamon characters in the finish and lingering on into the aftertaste. I liked this, it was a little different.
