Commercial Description:
The much awaited release of Pisgah's Vortex series has begun. The first offering is a triple IPA weighing in @ 10.8% and 133 IBU. This beer is packed with Chinook and Nugget hops throughout the boil. The refined bitterness within is the trademark our use of whole hop flowers and the aroma is due to 1# of dry hops per barrel for a number of loving weeks. Treat youself with caution!

Courtesy of fishingnet. Pours with a gold hazy matte copper look and floating a modest off white head. The aroma is mild and a bit musty with hints of sweetness and chewy muted sweet citrus. The taste is nice and citrusy and backed up by full smooth malt sweetness. It gets pretty grapefruit hop bitter by midway with support notes of pine, grassiness and a dash of spice. It ends dry and a bit rougher than it started.

pours amber with a nice big foamy beige head. Leaves some nice lace on the glass. notes of pine, mango, clitrusy hops, grapefruit, bread, caramel, and booze, especially as it warms.

Poured amber with thin head. Aroma was musky like a basement. Some strange hop aromas, most likely nugget. Flavor was dingy and sweet with almost clashing hop flavor. Hid the alcohol well, i didn’t realize it was over 10% until right now. Thin bodied. "Treat yourself with caution" is good advice.

courtesy of fishingnet. pours dark amber cloudy with thick off white head. Aroma and taste, yeasty, with some moldy flavors, dry palate, very hoppy and almost unbalanced. Some sweet caramel notes. Overall this just wasn’t great of a beer. Would not mind to re-rate it.

Thanks fishingnet for the share. Pours a brown-yellow with a foamy off-white head. Nose is floral hops, pine, citrus, and some spice. Flavor was caramel, all manner of hops, but lacks some of the depth that I would expect from a beer that I have heard so much hype about. Hmmm... Overall not bad.

Bomber pours a slightly hazed copper/orange body with a gushing ecru hued head. Lavish lacing. Aroma is floral and fruity, with orange blossom, pink grapefruit, and some floral hops. Taste is dominated by leafy, earthy, bitter hops with a pink grapefruit note and some chewy caramel malt. Very nice.

Poured a hazy copper color with an off-white head. Sweaty citrus hop aroma with a sweet malt base. Sweet malt flavor. The finish is long and moderately bitter. Medium bodied.
