| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 27, 2009 Deep brown almost black pour with tan head and lace. An aroma of mostly burnt coffee and hints of chocolate. Flavor is coffee, nuttiness, fruit that I think may be cherries. A tad foamy and thin. The body kept this from being an out there beer. Just slightly off. Abv well hidden. This is a jem. BgThang (118), Texas, USA

A - black as night with a light hint of light showing through. Nice one finger head that quickly dissipated.
Nose is that of a bunch of dark fruit, raisin, prunes, grapes, plums, blackberrys, the list goes on and on.
Taste - WOW this was an explosion of drak fruits and a very complex beer.
Thank you bill for bringing this and it was one of my favorites of the night. Would certainly buy this again if I cam e across it in my travels

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 24, 2009 Nice imperial stout. Strong malt on the nose and some hops hidden in there somewhere. Coffee is also in there as well. Full bodied stout with this one. Just as an imperial stout should be. Nice lacing on the glass as well. Decent amount of balance in there as well. My biggest concern is how well this beer will age. bconley (351), Fern Park, Florida, USA

This stuff is black. Coffee obviously. Nice caramelly sweetness. Really Good. Dickinsonbeer (3494), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is very sweet, sugary, brown sugar, dates, ok acrid roast, light smoke and some chocolate. Flavor is also on the sweet side with only hints of roast and coffee, light nutty chocolate, fruity, slight oxidation, and syrupy sweet caramel and toffee malts. lithy (1750), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Pitch black with a thin tan head. Burnt coffee, berry aroma. Taste is solid sweet roast malt, more berries, finishes with a chocolate and caramel sweetness. Beerlando (2341), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 19, 2009 Courtesy fogdog. Pours an extremely dark chocolate mahogany color, almost black. A thick, lasting, mocha colored head leaves thin, jagged lines of lacing on the glass. The nose is rich and fudgy, with plenty of big chocolate and dark caramel notes. Falling on the sweeter side, the roast component isn’t really big, but you do pick up hints of coffee to go along with a light waft of earthen hops. Flavors are simple, sweet and rich, with chocolate fudge showing as the dominant component. Hints of vanilla and mild dark fruit lurk in the background, while subtle roast and hop notes offer a little balance. Round and creamy, with even keeled carbonation, the mouthfeel is quite nice. Very good brew overall, though I do prefer a little more roastiness than this sweet RIS delivers.
