Bottle from Mr Lawrence Wine Merchant, Brockley. Pours a deep black with a creamy beige long lasting head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, brown sugar, some fruit. Good roasted malt character in the flavour with notes of chocolate, vanilla, coffee. Pleasant, warming mouthfeel Finishes smooth, sweet with an underlying bitterness. Very nice.

Cask gravity at The Bull, Horton Kirby. Black colour. Sour dark bitter choc aroma. Amazingly intense experience in the mouth. Like being slapped with a liquorice police baton. Intense sourish liquorice flavour. Some whisky malt flavours. Bit of heat. Bit of nut quality. Thick and oily in mouth. It leaves you in a very calm place.

Small brown coarseish head. Opaque black body. Vinuous chocolatey alcoholic fruity aroma with roasty burnt notes. Aroma is in fact rather like a chocolate with fruit liquor inside. Vinuous chocolatey fruity taste with roasty plum and alcohol notes. Full-bodied with some alcohol heat. Dry roasty papery alcoholic medicinal aftertaste. Lovely aroma, but the taste is nowhere near as successful. (0.5l bottle, City Beverage Co, London.)

Bottle. Balck beer with a weakly roasted aroma and a mildly roasted and malty flavour. Overall a pretty flat imperial stout.

This was ok but a little to sweet and acidity for me.I like my IPS more thick and smoother and this just did not have it,poured with almost no head and was very malty with hints of coffee.CHEERS!

Bottle thanks to ang at home. Aroma is roasted burnt malts with alc and sugary sweetness noteable, grassy hop character. Taste is a sore one, burnt bitter and hard to drink.

Bottle from stock (Quaffs) Lively black stout with a full tan head. Aromas of vanilla, roasted coffee, malts. Lovely and smooth with subtle alcohol coming through. Classy

Bottled. Fat milk nose. Intense yet surprising carbonation. Sour vanilla slashes across my tongue like a P1796 through a Frenchman.
