haddonsman (1191), Derby, Derbyshire, England Feb 7, 2008 Bottled, from Sound Bites, Derby. Derby’s premier organic food store with plenty of organic beer, a decent Pitfield range as well as stuff from Marble and others. Second in the bottle-raiding session tonight. Not bad; slight citric aroma, buttercup-puckering hops that soon subside, lacks that certain ba-da-BING! that I’ve come to love from IPAs. SHIG (1546), Oberoffligen, Germany Dec 5, 2007 Cask 78 Ultimate Glasgow tasting afters pub crawl: Poured an amber with a tan color head. The aroma was hops and pine. The taste is balanced with a nice hop finish. cgarvieuk (2525), Edinburgh, Scotland Sep 2, 2007 Bottle some point during RBESG 07. Really liked this and got so carried away drinking it took no notes, realised as i finshed it and scored only KnutAlbert (2313), Oslo, Norway Aug 30, 2007 Rather mild ale, a bit yeasty, a fine piney finish that grows slowly in the mouth. Not half bad! Beer_2000 (1269), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 26, 2007 500 ml bottle. Golden body with a big off-white head. Aroma is dominated with baking yeast as Yngwie indicates (we are charring the same bottle). Flavor is harsh, sour, bitter (in a negative way) and the palate is watery. Short aftertaste. This could be infected, but then again I think a recognize some of these negative elements from previously sampled Pitfield beers. Especially after they started as a ecologic brewery. They seem to have a problem, what about quality control?
