SilkTork (3943), Rochester, Kent, England Dec 24, 2004 Dec, 2002: Bottle Conditioned, There are four different malts and three different hops used in this dark and complex little brew. Deep, creamy, darkly fruity with a roller-coaster ride of assorted flavours. Star! O bright, brilliant star!
RichardGretton (2684), Leicestershire, England Dec 18, 2005 Bottle. Dark beer with a brown light bubbly head. The aroma is fruity, spiced and slightly vinous, the beer has a mulled nature to it. The flavour is mainly sour with a long dry finish. Overall a disappointing beer. leaparsons (4001), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Dec 15, 2005 Bottle. Black with a small cream head. Aromas are earthy roast malts with sour berries and hints of chocolate. Prickly on the nose and quite light. Flavours are roast malts with bitter coffee and some chocolate. Has an Ovaltine and oat type maltiness. Dry on the finish. Decent, if a bit thin. Pub (4125), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Sep 4, 2005 Cask Conditioned at The Gamecock, Harbury, Warks. Black bronze beer with healthy head. Overwhelming cardboard note at first sip with hard roasted malts. A little caramel and a dry hop on the finish. A touch of acidity, but mostly moist card. kook (2035), Perth, Western Australia, Australia Jul 13, 2005 Bottle: Pours hazy dark brown with a small beige head. Slightly oaky aroma, but mostly mild caramel with a touch of roast. Sweetish start with a mildly fruity mid and finish. Some acidic notes in aftertaste, almost a little tart.
