Cask (gravity) at the Hop Pole Easter beer festival 2009, Aylesbury. Reddish copper colour. Nice condition. Quite fruity aroma. Rather sweet initial impression on the palate. I also picked up the estery fruits reminiscent of boiled sweets that Fin did. Fair amount of hop presence leading to a fairly bitter finish. Not really an IPA but a perfectly respectable beer.

Cask gravity at The Hop Pole, Easter Beer Festival, Aylesbury, Bucks in the company of Loz, Chris O and Ruth 10-04-09 Pours amber with a clingy filmy white head. The aroma is slightly sweet with some fruit maybe in there. Taste is big on boiled sweets, there is a honey sweetness and the bitterness is easy going rather than challenging. This is quite thick in the mouth and I’m also getting a touch of marzipan. Its a decent enough beer though I’m not sure that it slots into the IPA category. A6 A4 F6 P3 Ov13 3.2
