DocLock (4170), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 23, 2008 Bottle from Capone’s. Pours turbid orange with 1-finger of well-retained off-white head. Nose is tropical fruit, including tangerine, pineapple, mango, star fruit, white pepper, huge hops, and huge caramel malt. The flavor contains a fruit medley of tangerine, pineapple, honeydew, orange marmalade, and a large amount of piney, nectary hops. The hop flavor, combined with the fruit, gives it a semi-sweet flavor profile rather than a dry profile. The mouthfeel is complex, very well balanced. It gets a tiny bit astringent late, with some late heat. Yet another awesome IIPA from these guys. SDalkoholic (1036), Chula Vista, California, USA May 22, 2008 22 oz bomber from South Bay Drugs. First off, I had never known PP had released a 1st anniversary ale but I’m glad their second anniversary ale was made available to Joey. The ale poured as a golden straw blonde that showed some evidence of sediment floating in equilibrium, and their was a small layer of head that left very little lacing. The nose is fully equiped with a strong dosage of citrus hops that meet our west coast standards and convince me that Pizza Pot meant to make an impression with their 2nd. The drink is bold and bitter with grapefruit, lemon peel and a metallic aftertaste. fiver29 (335), Strongsville, Ohio, USA May 24, 2008 Bottle courtesy of chequerazor! Pours a amber color with a white head. Has an aroma that consists of malty sweetness and some hops on the side. Taste is a pure hop blast. It is so intense that I puckered my lips on the first several sips. Has a medium mouthfeel that leads to a smooth hop blast. Overall this is what I look for in a new IIPA. Its piney, citrusy, hoppy, and the resins stick to the inside of my mouth like a thick syrup. Me like! 19641948 (492), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA Jun 6, 2008 Updated: Jun 12, 2008Aroma just POPS from the glass with resiny grapefruit hop scents! Oily hop character. All the citrus fruits are well-represented. Thick and syrupy mouthfeel. My lips are lacquered with resins, oils, and pine. Favorite beer of the night.
