BMan1113VR (628), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA May 16, 2008 Sent the photo in. Pours with a small, thick, white head covering a honey orange body. Very good lacing left on my glass. Aroma of sugar covered ruby grapefruit, pine needles and some light caramel notes. Taste is chewy hoppiness and a nice sweet alcohol presence to offset the citrus hop bite; it does so quite nicely, and leaves a good balanced flavor. The taste takes a while to cycle over your taste buds, and lasts a long time. Alcohol is noticable in the flavor, but still remains extremely drinkable. The 750mL bottle went fast, and it was just myself enjoying it. The feeling on the tongue is smooth and a bit coating, the carbonation is light; just how I like it. Great DIPA!
oteyj (254), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA Jul 17, 2008 Snifter. Pours slightly hazy amber with one finger beige head. Aroma is Quite fruity and floral, and slightly a-typical of the style in my expirience. Flavor is a mellow blend of sweet malt with nice but subtle balance from the hop character- grapefruit and citrus. Not overbearing at all. Quite drinkable actually. This would be a good introduction to the style for someone who was ready to take off their proverbial hop training wheels. Palate is oily, thick and crisp. Excellent mouthfeel for the style- would be quite velvety if it wasn’t for the gratuitous hop character. An excellent representation of the style. JB175 (1269), Holland, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 15, 2008 Bottles thanks to SQNfan and Matt from Capone’s - This one has a really pretty & glowing orange-amber color. Aroma is very sweet and citrusy with some bitter notes - monstrous! Taste is like biting from a big grapefruit, ripe cantaloupe, and some fresh hops all at once - really nice hop monster with just enough malt. Thick mouthfeel that is quite fulfilling. Maybe this one just caught me on the right night, but I think this is at least as good as Hop 15. Awesome DIPA! elnadeau (782), Laguna Niguel, California, USA Jul 15, 2008 Bottle. Silty gold pour, small head. Aromas are citrus/pine up front, some sweet syrup in background. Resiny, sweet malty flavors back up the hop kick, alcohol warming is nice. A very very good DIPA, me like. railcat1 (478), Hammond, Indiana, USA Jul 13, 2008 This was a very good IIPA with a big hop taste and a nice citrus offering to it ,poured orange with a nice fluffy head and abv is not that apparent.CHEERS! t4h2c0 (47), seattle, USA Jul 11, 2008 Pours a straw yellow color with slight nose, oliy hop flavor but still a bit watered down tasting. still has a lingering hop flavor that stays on your tounge. Does not taste like a 9.5% beer, watch out this one is dangerous, seems like a easy drinker but beware! I had high expectations and was slightly disappointed but still a good port brew!!
