growler thanks to the fellas at the Pizza Port Bottle Shop....poured a clear reddish brown wih a frothy off-white head.... nose comprised up of caramel malt with some grassy hop note and a little roast... flavors continued on the malt forward front, mainly caramel and softer dark fruit. mouthfeel was very smooth and a slight bitterness works its way into the equation from the hops....i thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Pours a deep reddish amber with off-white head. Sticky hops, bitter, floral, caramel malt, and some fruit and bread. Follows the style well. A big beer, with a failry thick mouthfeel, but still smooth. Not a wimpy beer.

Draft at Toronado BW fest. Reddish amber pour. Good fresh citrus hop aroma. Flavor has the same great hopping, slightly oily but nice. Good amount of bitterness, light pit fruit and caramel malt as well.

On tap at the Carlsbad location. Pours a mostly transparent, rusty amber color with a thick layer of tight bubbled off-white head. Aromas of caramel raspberry malt with a hefty squeeze of ruby red grapefruit hops. A touch of soft alcohols in the nose as well. Medium-full bodied, creamy carbonated mouthfeel. A sweet, chewy, juicy malt presence hops out on the tongue with some tangy caramels and sticky raisins. Loads of citrusy, high alpha hops pile on the backend, creating a juicy, satisfyingly dry grapefruit finish. A soft breath of warming alcohols are left warming the senses pleasantly.

Sampled at ’08 BSAF. Beer is cloudy, medium/dark mahogany brown with a small, off-white, frothy, mostly and quickly diminishing head.
The aroma is malty with a light notes of toasted nuts, caramel, moderate toasted grain, cookie, singed bread crust; Hoppy with moderate notes of resin/pine, light/moderate notes of flowers, vibrant lemon zest, trace of grass; Yeasty with a light sweat note; Light miscellaneous note of alcohol.
The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately/heavily bitter, lightly acidic with a very long, heavily bitter, light/moderately sweet finish. Slightly nutty retros.
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is average.

Enjoyed with a Pizza oddly enough, The san Francisco I think. Very rich and malty. Thick and syrupy with heavy fruits. was initially thinking it was a BSA. A tasty brew.

On tap at PP C’Bad. Great beer, try it if you see it. Pours a reddish brown color with a creamy off-white head, good retention, lots of lace. Smells malty and red fruity sweet. Spicy hops on the nose as well. Tastes of sweet red fruits up front and hoppy bitter over the last 3/4 of the mouth. Thick, full body. Good carbonation. Bitter and potent and good.

Pours a reddish brown with an off white head. Smells of heavy malt and darker fruit. Nice amount of hops in this one though and it is quite balanced. Good caramel flavor but also the citrus hops. Well done
