Aroma of lemon and grapefruit hops along with a lean pale malt and a bit of bready character as well. British types of malts and a light earthy character. A touch of citrus and spice in the hop flavour. Moderate bitterness. A fairly tasty pint. Sammy (4070), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 17, 2006 tap at Solona - This beer has a good, mild hop aroma with a little malt. It’s lightly carbonated and has a slightly too thin body. The easy going hops comes through nicely in the flavor with a lingering, dry finish. Did I drink the same beer as other reviewers? They said it was the Baja. I thought it tasted kind of like an ESB and was actually pretty good. And I’ve never rated a pale lager this high... papajohn (1055), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA

| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jul 23, 2006 Solana Beach. Little to no aroma - maybe the slightest bit of malt or grain, but nothing really. Appears a light copper color, with no effervescence, and with a small head that dissipates quickly. Flavor is very grainy, stale, and bitter in a skunky way. Palate is medium-light. Overall, a very bad brew. Perhaps I got a bad draft.
