Sample at the pizza port in Carlsbad. Aroma is hoppy and warm, nice balance of bitter flavor.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew pours a clear amber-orange color with a medium thin light beige head that recedes slowly. Spotty lacing is evident. Toasted malt and caramel in the nose, with a touch of hops. Medium, smooth body with flavors of burnt malt and caramel, along with some mildly spiced hops. The finish is roasty with a caramel malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

tap at Stone Bistro..... apperance of a transparent brandy brown with a thin, soapy white head.... nose was made up of earthy light tropical fruit hops.....flavors start of slightly bitter and then progresses towards alighter, sweet, and more crisp feel. the finish is slightly bitter as well.....not a bad bitter but didn’t do anything to really distinguish itself.
